We're available 24/7 to discuss treatment options.

Additional treatment options

Your care team may employ other state-of-the-art treatments options in addition to surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, based on the lung cancer type, disease stage and your individualized treatment plan.

Additional treatment options available to lung cancer patients at City of Hope include:

Clinical trials

City of Hope offers clinical trials as part of our commitment to bringing out patients new and innovative treatment options, especially for patients with advanced cancer or who have exhausted standard-of-care approaches. The research team at City of Hope carefully identifies and studies new and emerging treatment options that are supported by scientific and investigational research. Your care team will work with you to determine if you qualify for an existing trial, and, if so, will help you enroll.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a broad category of cancer therapies that use the body's immune system to fight cancer. If immunotherapy is an option for you, your doctor will monitor your progress closely and may pair immunotherapy with other treatments.

Targeted therapy

Targeted therapy blocks the growth and spread of cancer by preventing cancer cells from dividing, or destroying them. Targeted therapy directs drugs (or other specially created substances, such as man-made immune system proteins) to attack cancer cells.
