Travel and transportation

COVID-19 travel update: Patient safety is our top priority. Traveling for treatment is a decision to discuss with your care team. Some patients will need to travel for treatment. Get updated information about travel and patient safety here.

If you are concerned about traveling to City of Hope, let us reassure you. Each of our locations meet or exceed all screening and safety measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We're taking all necessary precautions to protect patients, caregivers and employees against COVID-19. We also work hard to provide you and your loved ones with a warm and welcoming environment.

If you travel by air, train or bus to our locations in Arizona, Georgia or Illinois, City of Hope may cover transportation costs for your initial evaluation and follow up appointments for some patients. Since we understand traveling alone can be difficult or stressful, we may also cover the cost for one caregiver to accompany you to your evaluation.*

If you travel by car, you may qualify for mileage reimbursement.*  We offer complimentary parking at our hospitals and clinics.

Additionally, City of Hope representatives:

  • Schedule your air or train travel
  • Reserve your accommodations at nearby guest quarters or at a City of Hope partner hotel
  • Greet you at the airport or train station and bring you to the hospital, or to your nearby lodging site
  • Arrange for shuttle service including trips to and from the hospital and your hotel

* Due to federal law, this benefit is not available to Medicare patients or other patients whose health care is paid for by government insurance.
